Αερίστριες εργάτριες

Λέει ο πατέρας μου:
Tι καλύτερο απο το να ξυπνήσεις πρωί πρωί το Σάββατο και να βγείς στην εξοχή να κάνεις με το πρώτο φως της ανοιξιάτικης μέρας, μεταφορές στα μελισσάκια σου?

Το πρώτο καλύτερο που μπορώ να σκεφτώ εγώ, ειναι να το κάνεις μεν, να εχεις κοιμηθεί νωρίς όμως την Παρασκευή. Τέλος πάντων μαι τετοια μέρα ξεκίνησα σήμερα κατα τις 6:00, συνδυασμένη με μια καπως συντονισμένη επίθεση κι ενα πρησμένο χέρι αλλα αποζημιώθηκα ποικιλοτρόπως

1. μετέφερα καποιες κυψέλες σε άλλη θέση. Οι κυψέλες αυτές ήταν σε σημείο “ιδιαιτερα πυκνοκατοικημένο”. Ο χρονος μου ειδικα αυτες τις μέρες ειναι περιορισμένος. Σε ελάχιστες μέρες θα ξεκινήσουν διαδικασίες αναπαραγωγής και σμηνουργίας, που αν δε τις προλάβω θα αρχίσουν κατα χιλιάδες οι μέλισσες μου, να κανουν επισκέψεις σε μερη που θα ειναι ανεπιθύμητες Ολο αυτο δημιουργεί πίεση απο την οποία σήμερα με τη μεταφορά σε πιο έρημο σημείο, γλίτωσα!

2. Επιθεώρησα τα μελίσσια μου στην Ερέτρια και ειναι μια χαρα

3. Εβγαλα ωραίες φωτογραφίες με τις μέλισσες να φαίνονται χρυσομαυρες.

Παμε λοιπόν στο τριτο σημείο…..

Στο παρελθόν, παρα το γεγονός οτι για μένα η σημαντικότερη φωτογραφία του blog δεν ειναι μέλισσας αλλα σερσενιού (και είναι αυτη) τη μεγαλύτερη αίσθηση έκαναν οι φωτογραφίες απο το post για τον καύσωνα. Συγκεκριμένα η φωτογραφία για με τις εργάτριες που μαζεμένες στην εισόδο της κυψέλης και παραταγμένες στη σειρά, κουνουν συντονισμένα τα φτερά τους για να αερίσουν την κυψέλη.

Ε σήμερα το έβγαλα και video αυτο και το ανέβασα στο youtube, στον σχετικό λογαριασμό που έχω (my bees at youtube)

Aυτο που έχει συμβεί ειναι οτι αλλάξαμε μια κυψέλη με μια καινούρια. Βγάλαμε δηλαδή απο την παλιά όλα τα πλαίσια με όλες τις μέλισσες και τα μεταγγίσαμε σε αλλη. Δεν το διασκεδάζουν πολύ αυτο οι μέλισσες. Οποτε καμια φορα τσιμπάνε πολυ. Σημερα όντως έγινε αυτο και αναγκαστήκαμε να τις καπνίσουμε αρκετά για να ηρεμήσουν Οταν όλα τέλειωσαν παρατάχτηκαν κλασικά στην είσοδο και αέρισαν την καπνισμένη κυψέλη τους. Το βουητό τους ειναι όλα τα λεφτα.

Eνδιαφέρον έχει στο τελευταίο video και μια εργάτρια που σκαει απο το πουθενα, με τα πόδια φορτωμένα γύρη.

Επίσης αν δει κανεις και την τοτε φωτογραφία θα δει οτι η κληση των σωματων τους ειναι διαφορετική. Αλλιώς ηθέλαν να κινήσουν τον αέρα τότε κι αλλιώς τώρα.

Τελος θελω να πω συγγνώμη στην καημένη Ελισάβετ που φωνάζει Σαββατόβραδο να ετοιμαστώ για να βγούμε κι εγώ καθομαι στο pc αλλα και να την ευχαριστισω που μου δανεισε σήμερα την super μηχανή της κι εβγαλα αυτα τα video 😀

Η ανοιξη πλησιάζει ταχύτατα και νομίζω θα έχω πολυ υλικο να κανω upload!

Aerating worker bees

My father says:
What could possibly be better than to awake at dawn on a Saturday morning in Spring, to go out into the countryside and, with the first light of day, move your beehives?

The best possible thing I can imagine, sure, is to do this – but after having gone to bed early on Friday night. Anyway, that’s the kind of day I awoke to at 6:00 a.m. this
morning, combined with a more or less coordinated attack and a swollen hand – but I was compensated in various ways.

1 ) I transferred several hives to another position. These hives had been in a place which was “especially densely populated”. My time these days is quite limited. In just a few days they will begin the processes of reproduction and swarming, which, if I don’t manage in time, thousands of my bees will make
visits to places where they are unwanted. All of this creates pressure which, with today’s transfer to a more peaceful location, I have managed to avoid!

2 ) I checked my beehives in Eretria, and they are ok.

3 ) I took some wonderful pictures in which the bees appear gold-black.

Let’s turn to the third point.

In the past, despite the fact that, for me, the most important pictures in the blog were not of bees but of Vespa Crabro, (and this is it), the photos which made the greatest impression
were from the blog on the heatwave. Specifically, I prefer the picture with the worker bees massed at the entrance of the hive, all arrayed in a row, simultaneously fanning their
wings in order to aerate the hive.

Today, I also took this video which I posted on youtube on the account I have there (my bees at youtube).

What happened was that we exchanged an old hive for a new one. In other words, we took all the frames out of the old hive, with all of the bees, and we stuck them into a new
one. The bees don’t particularly enjoy this procedure. They tend to sting a little. Today, that is exactly what happened, and we were forced to smoke them quite thoroughly
before they would calm down. When it was all over, they lined up in classic manner at the entrance and aerated their smoke-filled hive. You can hear their buzzing. Enjoy!

It is also interesting, in the last video, to see a worker bee coming out of nowhere with her legs loaded with pollen.

Also, if someone looks at the photograph they will see that the angle of their bodies is different. Then they just wanted to move the air but now….

thank her for lending me her super video camera – with which I filmed this video: D
